According to the various states of the rims, there
are several possible solutions of restoration:

Simplest
if the chromium
plating is still relatively good is to clean with adapted products
special for chromium. It is of course the most economic solution.

-
For the
rusted or damaged rims, a possibility remains its
replacement by a
new one. Thanks to the remaking of the similar models of the S3800 by
two different companies, many new parts like the rims and
the tires are available. Dimensions of the rim correspond to the models
since the 1700. Solution to put on the side by the purists because the
rims
are intended to carry tire tubes with new end and not Presta
as at the origin. The hole to let pass the valve is thus larger...
- The last
possibility, most expensive but often necessary, is to make it
Re-chromium plate. To reduce the costs, the disassembling of the rays
and the polishing of the rim are to be carried out oneself. To envisage
approximately 50 Euros of chromium plating.
