I share with you through this site my passion for these collectible Velosolex. Through the years, I learned a lot about the possibilities of restoring them. I had the joy of riding with various old Solex without clutch or Plisolex (2 of which 1 still in my possession!).
Velosolex Collection
Solex 1400
A 1010 that would have smaller wheels is surely a Solex 1400! The 1.75 x 19 wheels are now standard and will remain so until the latest roller models.
Solex 1700
The special feature of the Velosolex 1700 is the appearance of the automatic clutch. A novelty at Solex! The engine is now running when the Solex is off.
Solex S2200
The Solex S2200 is the first Solex with interference suppression. This improvement required by the popularization of radios is reflected by the hood of the candle by the air filter.
Solex S3800
The Solex S3800 is equipped with a new folded sheet metal frame, whose angular geometry contrasts with the arondi frame of previous models.

Restore your Velosolex
The oldest Velosolex have this year no less than 60 years old. After having long frequented the roads of France and elsewhere, they sleep today often forgotten in garages and other storage. Flea markets are a good place to find one but there is a good chance of finding it in "barn exit" status when it is acquired. Rusted frame, engine blocked and lack of parts are often required and requires the realization of a complete restoration!
Repair of a Solex engine
The different Solex engines are relatively simple and standard. The new models have always replaced their predecessors with only a few changes. This has the advantage of being able to find sometimes new parts such as seal kits and use them on old models. Accessible mechanics!
